Sparkling creativity
The Art Room was back with a bang this week with a dazzling display of firework art to welcome in the new half term! Full of sparkle and technicolour, the children’s paintings captured the fizz and fun of fireworks night in acrylic paint, filling inky black canvases with flashes of enthusiasm and unique, imaginative designs.
It was great to see so much creativity around the table as the children had fun experimenting with different mark-making techniques to capture explosive bursts of light and vibrant swooshes of colour. Sponges, cardboard strips, cotton buds and brushes were put to good use to print, blend and swirl paint into interesting shapes and patterns to capture graceful showers of colourful stars, the twinkly flashes of burning sparklers and the glowing flames of flickering bonfires.
We were so impressed with the patience and focus everyone showed throughout the sessions to carefully build up layers of paint, adding glittering highlights and tiny details to give depth and energy to their compositions. As ever, we were thrilled with the variety of artworks at the end of the afternoon and to hear “I am very proud of my painting this week” from one of our young artists is testament to the progress everyone is making. The Art Room fireworks display was really magical this year!
