There was a spectacular blast of creative colour in The Art Room on 5th November as we started back for a new half term of arty afterschool fun! Inspired by the magic and excitement of Fireworks Night, our young artists let their imaginations soar to light up a black paper sky with plenty of sparkle, pop and wow!
Dipping into an enormous pile of rainbow coloured paper bits and bobs, the children had lots of fun experimenting with paper-folding techniques to create a wonderful collection of dynamic rockets and dazzling firework bursts, discovering how simple snips and folds can be transformed into exciting three dimensional shapes and patterns. The children loved playing with different combinations of shapes, sizes and vibrant colours, using their creativity, and plenty of glue, to make each design completely unique with paper curls, spirals, fringes and stars.
To bring our artworks to life, we filled the inky-black paper sky with splatters of paint to create a beautiful starry backdrop, giving our rockets and fireworks the perfect setting to shine. It was a wonderfully colourful session, full of sparkling imagination, experimentation and oodles of creative fun.
Well done everyone, you started this half term with some real bangers!
