Celebrate good times!

This week in the Art Room we had the tunes, we had the bunting and we had the vibes as we hosted a fun-filled arty party to celebrate our first birthday and an exciting opening year of children’s art classes.  A big thank you to all our young artists who joined in the festivities and helped us celebrate the Art Room anniversary in the best possible way by sharing their boundless imagination and creativity!

 We had a blast with decorations in our preschooler session and got busy with colourful balloon printing, streamers and collage to create vibrant, supersized artworks. Afterschool the magic continued as beautifully bright birthday cakes appeared before our eyes when lines, squiggles, and dots of paint were transformed in our squeegee art activity.  Drawing and watercolour painting skills were put to excellent use at our card-making table with rainbow-coloured candles, cupcakes and party people taking the birthday spotlight.

Our centrepiece for the afternoon was a giant, collaborative birthday banner. A huge hit with the children, it was brilliant to see everyone working together to capture their energy and enthusiasm for art as they filled the paper with their unique birthday-themed art works and dazzling technicolour! We loved hearing the children reminisce over past Art Room projects and talk about the friendships they have made in our sessions.  Our ‘happy place’ was buzzing yesterday – the best gift we ever could have hoped for!
